We had a wonderful stay at City Hotel in Mannheim. the location was perfect, just a five-minute walk to the train station. Despite being close to the city center, the street was quiet with minimal traffic noise. the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, and their English was fantastic. the room was clean and comfortable, and the buffet breakfast offered a great selection of items. Thank you!
Nothing 🙌 It was perfect!

Convenient for the station
The decor of the hotel was pretty grotty and in need of an update. Our room was on 2nd floor up windy steps and was glad we only had backpacks.

Central position
Although my booking reported the price of the room at € 68 per night and that I was in possession of the printed booking confirming € 68 per night, the management has demanded € 80 per night, declaring that the rates have increased from 1 ^ September. My reservation was made in February and, according to the management, concerned only the availability of the room, not the price, which could be increased. I had neither the time nor the wish to call the police for € 12!. Chinese management. Hotel to be avoided.

I stayed at City Hotel for one night and it was perfect for my travel purpose of needing a place to sleep. The bed was comfy and the location was great, with the train station and city center nearby. I appreciated having a Lidl close by for any food or necessities, and the S-Bahn was also conveniently located. The person at the front desk was helpful and made my stay enjoyable. it met all my needs and I would recommend it for short stays.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Very friendly and nice staff. Excellent location less than 5 minutes away from train station. Very clean. Very comfortable bed. Good pillows. Hair dryer. Good breakfast buffet at affordable price. I booked an individual room, but good size and included a desk. Big tv screen.
The room wasn't warm enough for me. But nothing too serious.

The hotel worked just fine for my needs... Nothing fancy, but everything was clean and the staff were friendly. There was an incredible range of tv stations, including hundreds of international channels in dozens of languages, so diverse travelers from different parts of the world might enjoy that. An Asian restaurant is attached to the hotel.
We were traveling as an adult and two young children. When I got there, they said they would give us 2 rooms for same price. The only triple room they had was a smoking room. This would have been a real problem if my children were even a few years younger.... But as it was, we did end up taking two rooms right next to each other and they enjoyed having their own room and it felt safe and fine. But, if booking a triple room be aware of this....... Breakfast had a wide choice, but of all fairly mediocre and low-end items...... Which is maybe fine for the price, though.

The staff were exceptional with the standard of service they provided, extremely helpful, friendly and I would certainly stay again because of the polite welcoming staff.
I found the room a bit cold - I do like a room to be be warm!

Friendly staff, convenient location.
The plumbing systems are problematic. I don't like a puzzle about which way the shower tap should go to get hot water and then have to try both directions for up to 7 minutes....whilst I freeze.

Free internet in the room, very wide range of international TV channels available, wider variety of coffee specialities available at breakfast than is usual for a hotel in Germany,
paying a 10 € deposit to get a remote control for TV

Very close to the city center and the main train station
It was very old. I could hear what was happening in the next room and corridor. The window in the room could not be closed properly.

Excellent location, near the city centre. Not too expensive. Hotel staff gave me hot water for tea in the room at no extra expense. Breakfast at 5 euros a time was a good benefit.
The room was cold, radiator was not working. The shower had more cold than hot water. The shower head made the water sparse and sharp. The wireless Internet connection did not work during my whole stay.

City Hotel it's very well situated, 5 minute to Hauptbahnhof and 5 minutes to Centrum.Staff people are very helpfull and nice .
In the night it's quite noisy , walls are to thin and you can hear everything starting with tram outside and shower from your neighbour but you start to use with that.
